LFW Hits & Misses
HIT: Marques ' Almeida
"I love the striped pieces with the mesh inserts, and that weird black + red sequin print. They're very interesting, I'd love to see them used in editorials. Good show." [AnaD ] "They're getting more and more strong with time and this collection is really good, modern and cool." [perhydrol ] "Love as always." MISS: Christopher Kane
"This guy was one of the highlights of LFW years ago, with attractive clothes and interesting concepts; but from a couple of years ago to now he has become another filler in the show schedule. It's tragic." [jeanclaude ] "I thought this was Erdem when I first scrolled through. What happened to him? He used to be so engaging, now he gives us boiled down romanticism with some Proenza 'edge' and a faded McQueen colour palette?!" [AnaD ] "Crystal covered Crocs. Lord. I'll pass on this collection as well." [RedSmokeRise ]See all the looks from the Christopher Kane collection .

HIT: Erdem
"Wow, the quality of work has really stepped up. The embroidery, brocade, and lace are much finer than what's been used before and the feather work is stunning. He actually used feathers better than Marchesa did this season." [AnaD ] "Does he have new backers? The sheer quality of everything I see here has advanced significantly." [Pricciao ]

MISS: Mary Katrantzou
"God. This looks straight out of 2010. Not good." [dior_couture1245 ] "I really hope that this isn't a sign that puffball skirts are due a comeback. Also, what are they made out of? Bin bags? Looking at the pics up close, though, some of those 'paint by numbers' florals are actually very beautiful with all of the embroidery. It's just a shame about the 'balloon' silhouettes!" [blackkohl ] "A parade of deflated hot air balloons in random tasteless colours and prints that awkwardly fell over the bodies of the models. Is she auditioning for Ungaro?? Polka dots with florals...arghhh!!" [jeanclaude ]See all the looks from the Mary Katrantzou collection .

HIT: Roland Mouret
"One of the few designers who have remained faithful to his identity while doing something fresh. This is the progression Victoria Beckham should have chased. A very beautiful collection." [Lola701 ] "This has the look that Maria's California-themed Dior resort collection was trying to achieve. The pieces are very cool and effortless, but they're interesting enough to look very fresh. I like the bandana prints and the deconstructed florals, and I adore the deep desert sky-like colour palette." [AnaD ] "Very cool use of the classic bandana print. The bone necklaces are a nice touch, to add a Western vibe. There are some nice cuts/colours here too. Stylish w/o being gimmicky; I like it!" [Not Plain Jane ]See all the looks from the Roland Mouret collection .

MISS: Emporio Armani
"Those naïf prints belong to the sheets and curtains from a 5-year-old child's room...and they should have never ever seen the light of a runway." [jeanclaude ] "An endless stream of extremely boring clothes. Waste of materials." [anlabe32 ] "So many looks, this is enough for two shows! I don't like this, it looks like it's trying too hard to capture that 'chic 90s' aesthetic and failing. It's very garish and the prints are distracting." [AnaD ]See all the looks from the Emporio Armani collection .

HIT: Pringle of Scotland
"Love it! So pretty, easy, concise and coherent..." [Not Plain Jane ] "Those printed dresses are so beautiful. This collection is really pretty, easy and light in a way as a whole. The colour palette is good, too." [perhydrol ]See all the looks from the Pringle of Scotland collection .

MISS: Topshop Unique
"It's funny that this brand is called unique when everything on the runway has appeared in almost every other show." [AnaD ] "The trousers remind me of Calvin Klein (although I'm sure the shape is borrowed from another brand as well)." [Cute ]See all the looks from the Topshop Unique collection .

HIT: Chalayan
"I've never been a fan of his recent work, but I love all of this." [christian zh ] "This is really good." [AnaD ] "Great from start to finish." [TREVOFASHIONISTO ]See all the looks from the Chalayan collection .

MISS: Gareth Pugh
"This just looks uncomfortable." [AnaD ] "His tailoring skills are so poor. Don't like the comparisons with McQueen who was a master of the tailoring, cut and fabric manipulations." [IloveDiorHomme ] "This is just laziness." [jeanclaude ]See all the looks from the Gareth Pugh collection .

HIT: Jasper Conran
"So colourful!" [AnaD ] "I want that long green dress with amber trim at the end. Soooo chic." [Not Plain Jane ]See all the looks from the Jasper Conran collection .

MISS: J.W.Anderson
"I think his time is sort of fading over... This feels like broken records playing over. I've had too much of it already and there's not much evolution in his fashion as of late. And in a way, it could also be a bad Loewe show." [Creative ] "Very underwhelming and safe for a collection by Anderson." [Nomar ] "For the first time I got totally bored when I was watching his show. The concept of creating basics might have worked for his menswear but here it's not interesting at all. Even the colour palette felt pretty weak." [perhydrol ]See all the looks from the J.W.Anderson collection .

HIT: Simone Rocha
"Light, lofty and lovely." [Not Plain Jane ] "I actually quite like this. Individually the pieces are great." [AnaD ] "There's something very endearing about her work which I really like." [Nomar ]See all the looks from the Simone Rocha collection .

MISS: Burberry
"I see Gucci, I see Prada, but not a Burberry in sight. I can't believe how badly they're playing around with this brand's 'new' look, it's so forced and derivative. Had they found a new look and stuck to it I wouldn't have so much of a problem, but they're changing aesthetics every season. I barely recognize this brand anymore." [AnaD ] "This brand should be renamed Blah-berry. It's a damn shame too because there are some great concepts here that could have been pushed further. The transparent fabric was a missed opportunity. They could have created some incredible structured pieces with it, but instead it's just thrown over the models with zero effort." [GivenchyHomme ] "This is incredibly bad, only like the oversized see-through coats, but also my first thought was Gucci but uglier. Looks like a Sears catalogue from the 90s." [zacatecas570 ]See all the looks from the Burberry collection .

HIT: Julien Macdonald
"I like it! I have a soft spot for this kind of Cavalli/Versace tackiness. It's better than the trash that Vaccarello used to get praised for. This looks very well-made. This collection will please his customers." [GivenchyHomme ] "Tacky, trashy, and sexy, but very well done for that look. I really like that black fringed gown with the entire torso cut out, boob slings and all." [AnaD ]See all the looks from the Julien Macdonald collection .
