Nearly every event this Fall has been filled with Hollywoodâs leading ladies showing some shoulder. The one-shouldered dress is the sexy silhouette of the season because it works for nearly every body type and every age group. Here are 10 celebrities who stylishly gave us the cold shoulder recently.

1. Emma Roberts
Nineteen-year-old Emma Roberts, star of next yearâs Scream 4, is anything but scary in this sexy-yet-sweet black lace one-shouldered dress from Emilio Pucciâs Fall/Winter 2010 runway collection at the Spike TV Scream 2010 awards.
2. Estelle
British R&B singer-songwriter Estelle was all about the old school glitz and glamour while wearing a black one-shouldered gown at Glamourâs 20th-annual Women of the Year Awards held at Carnegie Hall earlier this month.

3. Petra Nemcova
Also at Glamourâs Women of the Year awards, Czech model Petra Nemcova channeled a Greek goddess in this winter-white silk-jersey dress with gold flower chain-straps (see more celebs that chose white for the red carpet).
4. Fergie
There was a lot of shoulder at Glamourâs 20th annual Women of the Year: Fergie also showed up in an extremely sexy red one-shouldered Zac Posen gown from his Spring 2011 collection. Kate Hudson sat next to Fergie at the event, and Fergie joked to the New York Times, âShe wanted to wear one-shoulder, too, so I said it had to be the opposite shoulder.â
5. Kate Hudson
Fergie may have won Glamourâs Woman of the Year award, but actress Kate Hudson wins the red carpet in this gorgeous gold-flecked single-shouldered gown by Lanvin. The only snag is the all-too-visible zipper, but Kate still looks amazing.
6. Gwyneth Paltrow
After fading from the spotlight, actress Gwyneth Paltrow is back and you canât miss her (did you catch her on Glee last week?) The 38-year-old mother of two showed up at the Country Music Awards in an Atelier Versace gown that showed more than a little leg with a slit up-to-there, before she took to the stage. You can expect to see lots more of GOOP-girl Gwynnie, as she plays an alcoholic country singer in Country Strong, due out early next year. Â

7. Jennifer Lopez
While this dress should look sexy, the beading somehow makes it look frumpy. Jennifer Lopez had the best intentions at the 32nd Anniversary Carousel Of Hope Gala, but her gown from Georges Chakraâs Spring 2010 collection isnât quite working.
8. Halle Berry
Halle Berry could make a paper bag look sexy, so itâs not surprising how radiant she looks in this YSL Pre-Fall 2010 dress at the 32nd Anniversary Carousel Of Hope Gala. Halleâs skin glows against the dark red hue and the dress drapes perfectly to show off her shoulders while accentuating her curves. Â

9. Jennifer Connelly
While the one-shouldered dress is an undeniably hot look for the season, it doesnât always work. Case in point: Jennifer Connelly in a bondage-themed mishap from Balenciagaâs Spring 2011 collection. Jen is brand ambassador for Balenciaga, and it makes us wonder if she was contractually obligated to wear this number to the 27th Annual Night of Stars. She did decide to remove the white top at some point while walking the red carpet, and though it looks much better, nothing could save this dress.
10. Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart is such a polarizing actress â she rarely smiles and it looks like sheâd rather be eating glass than have to deal with nonsense like interviews and promoting her films. At least she dresses well most of the time. Here, sheâs grimacing in a body-hugging black lace one-shouldered dress by Valentino at the premiere of her newest movie Welcome to the Rileys. Come on Kristen, you look great and this movie wasnât written for 12-year-olds: thatâs something to smile about.
