Megan Fox, Scarlett Johansson and Other Celebs Show Off Tattoos on the Red Carpet

Angelina Jolie may be the world’s most famous tattooed actress, but it didn’t take long for the rest of Hollywood to follow suit. Megan Fox, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Longoria have also turned their tattoos into red carpet accessories.

Long before Angelina Jolie joined forces with Brad Pitt to create a world traveling multi-cultural family, she was the ultimate bad girl. When she wasn’t locking lips with then husband, Billy Bob Thorton, Jolie was busy showing off her cultured collection of tattoos. The coordinates for where she adopted her children Maddox and Zahara now cover the spot once devoted to Thorton, and a piece reading “know your rights” lies between her shoulder blades.

When she’s not being compared to Jolie, it’s nearly impossible for actress Megan Fox to go without showing her tattoos on the red carpet. From a Shakespearean quote to an homage to Marilyn Monroe, the 24-year-old’s body is covered in ink – and Fox knows how to keep fans guessing about her next addition. Fox told MTV News last June that she added a piece in honor of actor Mickey Rourke, “I actually got a tattoo that is sort of in honor of [him], it’s on my ribs. I don’t know if it’s been photographed yet, but it’ll come out eventually, I’m sure. I just love him very much and think he’s very special.”

Rihanna‘s affinity for ink is part of the singer’s signature style. No body part is off limits when it comes to the 22-year-old’s evolving tattoo collection. The French words “Rebelle Fleur” decorate the singer’s neck (which translates to “rebel flower”). Rihanna boasts the same tattoo as fellow celebs Lily Allen and Lindsay Lohan, one of her index fingers reads “Shhh…” Recently at the American Music Awards, Rihanna covered up in a red lace dress that surprisingly camouflaged most of the singer’s tattoos!

The whole world did a double take when Scarlett Johansson first debuted a colorful tattoo on her forearm in 2008. “It’s kind of personal. It’s a sunrise, and it makes me happy when I look at it,” the actress told Allure magazine. The tattoo may seem out-of-place for the classic beauty, but like most everything else in her life, Johansson keeps the story behind her ink secret.

Sadly, Eva Longoria‘s tattoo tribute to soon-to-be ex-husband, Tony Parker, outlasted her marriage. Roman numerals on Longoria’s wrist commemorate the couple’s wedding anniversary and the actress’ nape reads “nine”, Parker’s basketball number. Will Longoria have the tattoos removed, or go for a cover up?
