Spring Trend #2: Black and White
Spring might conjure thoughts of pastel Easter egg hues, but this season’s hottest color combination is actually more like a lack thereof. Black and white is dominating the celebrity color palette, as Hailee Steinfeld demonstrated at the Coach benefit for the Children’s Defense Fund. We love the way she made a black pleated BCBG skirt more seasonally-appropriate with a white mesh Topshop shell and white Coach sandals.

Louise Roe actually put two spring trends together at the Bulgari event honoring Elizabeth Taylor—graphic striping, a carry-over trend from winter, and this season’s craze for abstract prints. Her BCBGMaxAzria dress featured a monarch-like orange print and was given a futuristic feel with a white leather harness detail. Go for dresses, skirts and pants in a mosaic of this season’s chaotic prints—and don’t be afraid to combine them!

This spring, go for the gold and incorporate metallics into your outfit through shiny accessories.
