Double-Take #1: Printed Suits

Selena Gomez has definitely stepped up her style game lately, as the outfit she was spotted wearing in NYC demonstrated. Her printed Peter Pilotto peplum top and pants featured an out-there print that tastemakers are loving right now. But it’s not just the fancy designer names that are helping her to shake her Belieber image—the fact that she’s rocking the same trend as Hollywood heavy-hitter Kate Beckinsale also does her good. At the opening night of Funny Girl, Beckinsale also did the printed suit trend. Her black-and-white patterned tuxedo jacket and pants were by Parker, and she styled the look with a volumized updo. Whose prints are you charmed by?
Double-Take #2: Bold Shoulders

At this point, you’ve heard all about strong shoulders, but Brittany Snow gave the term new meaning at the MTV Movie Awards—her navy blue Lela Rose dress featured gathering at the waist and shoulders which were embellished with a collage of studs, spikes and beads. Her smoky eye makeup and sleek styling completed the tough look. Rumer Willis went for the same bold shoulder vibe when she went to see Snoop Dogg (or is it Lion) perform at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas. She wore a black jacket with epaulet-like feathered shoulder embellishment over a sporty mini. A studded bag and strappy sandals accessorized the rock ‘n’ roll look. Do you like either of their styles, or should this trend go the way of the shoulder pad?
Double-Take #3: White Fit-and-Flare Dresses

Alice Eve’s and Jordin Sparks’ white fit-and-flare dresses look almost identical, right? Would you believe that the Star Trek actress’ dress is designer, while the singer’s is from the mall? That’s right, Eve wore a look by Amen (it’s actually a top and skirt put together to look like a dress) to the CinemaCon Opening Night and Hudson dressed up a very similar, but much more accessible, number by Bebe at the Dress for Success event honoring her mother. Both styled their looks with contrasting bright sandals. Which do you prefer, upscale or make-it-work?
