With this season’s short Men’s Fashion Week line-up wrapped, and Couture Week around the corner, there has been non-stop buzz about who will and will not stage runway shows this upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 season.
For starters, it looks like David Tlale and Tiffany Amber by Folake Folarin-Coker – who tied as the winners of the Designer of the Year Award at the Arise Africa Fashion Awards and Gala in Johannesburg on the night of Saturday, June 20th – may show in New York come September. Their win in that category earned them the chance to show at the Arise Africa Rising show during New York Fashion Week.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Sauders will be joining Burberry, Matthew Williamson, and Pringle of Scotland when he, in light of the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week, will show his collection in London during the British Capitals Fashion Week. This will take place from September 18th to the 22nd at the Somerset House.
The Scottish designer showed in New York last season, but he has said that he is absolutely delighted to be returning to show in London this September. He added that “showing in New York for the last few seasons has been an amazing experience for both me and the business. However, London has always been my home and where I have my studio. I am very much looking forward to being part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations of London Fashion Week and am grateful to the BFC for the invitation to return.”
