Seeing Double: Nicole Richie and Alice Eve Surprise in 70s Fringed Bobs

Double-Take #1: 70s Fringed Bobs

Nicole Richie’s life is a constant style evolution, but her new haircut gives the impression that she’s looking backwards for inspiration—all the way back to the 70s. Her latest ‘do, which she debuted at the AOL 2013 Digital NewFront, is a blunt, shoulder-length bob with long, feathered fringe—which she reportedly created herself. Though the style is unique, Alice Eve of Star Trek fame also turned heads at the Berlin premiere in an identical volumized bob with thick bangs. It’s hard to say whether the stars loved their new looks, however—Richie disguised her hair with gray texture spray the next week at the Met Gala, and Eve’s had hers slicked back ever since.

Double-Take #2: Peekaboo Black Mesh

Jennifer Lawrence, Christina Hendricks and Kate Bosworth are three actresses who seem to have totally disparate style; one is young and fresh, the other classy with a touch of va-va-voom and the third a style-setting risk-taker—but one thing they all have in common is a little black mesh. Lawrence’s fun fit-and-flare David Koma skater dress at the GLAAD Media Awards had a mesh neckline extending to the sleeves, Hendricks’ Valentino frock at the BAFTA celebration of Mad Men was buttoned-up if not for the cleavage-exposing mesh at the yoke, and Bosworth’s Oscar de la Renta piece had a neckline of beautifully gathered mesh. Which peekaboo-playing star leaves you wanting to see more?

Double-Take #3: Dolce & Gabbana Trio of Knights Skirt

If Audrey Tatou’s Dolce & Gabbana look at the preremiere of L’Ecume Des Jours was high fashion front-to-back, then Lin Peng’s outfit at the Beijing Film Festival was high fashion back-to-front. The Chinese actress reversed Tatou’s ‘Trio of Knights’-print circle skirt and wore it with the flowered lace top seen on the runway instead of Tatou’s bra-baring lace blouse—which effort do you prefer?
