This weekend the Teen Choice Awards held its annual ceremony in L.A. While I wouldn’t normally turn to an event that’s meant to appeal to teenagers for fashion inspiration, this blue carpet was walked by all manner of ingenues and hotties, in a variety of sexy, going-out looks. Emmys and Oscars it’s not—but that’s a good thing when you want to embrace celeb style in a way that’s relatable to your actual wardrobe and budget.
I was loving Katie Cassidy’s pink lace dress with a fluted bottom and long sleeves. Simple black pointed-toe pumps (with a telltale red bottom) gave an edgy vibe to the look, as did her collection of silver rings and black nail polish. Her stylist was right to go for a cheeky ever-so-slightly undone top knot. When your dress is doing that much talking, no need to add to it with flowing, wavy locks. Let it be its own star.
