Double-Take #3: Dita Von Teese and Minka Kelly in Carolina Herrera

Dita and Minka don’t exactly move in the same circles in Hollywood, but both stars selected Carolina Herrera’s dark lace Fall 2013 gown with embellished neckline for two very different galas. The burlesque beauty just wore the ornate piece last week at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala in Beverly Hills styled with a coordinating clutch, vintage earrings and Moschino shoes. Minka slipped into the dramatic dress back in May at this year’s punk-centric Met Gala. She’s usually drawn to frillier options, so even with that Heidi-inspired hairstyle accented by a glitzy Fallon accessory, this was pretty punk for Minka. Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Manolo Blahnik heels rounded out her effort at being edgy. Did Minka miss the mark at the Met or was this Carolina Herrera simply not retro enough for Dita?
