Cannes was certainly Adèle’s coming out party. She nonchalantly posed for the Blue Is the Warmest Color photocall in a black knit Azzedine Alaïa perforated dress with fringed hemline. Basic black pumps capped off the look. Adèle opted for a more graphic outfit for an appearance on the TV show Le Grand Journal. Her black and white Balmain Resort 2013 striped jumpsuit was once again teamed with black pumps.

It was another Balmain look for her film’s big festival premiere. Adèle’s Spring 2013 white and black woven dress was styled with a sleek hairdo as well as black pumps. When the actress attended the premiere of Zulu at the Cannes Closing Ceremony, she switched things up a bit in a flowing Gucci one shoulder ruffled gown. Adèle polished off the look with a gold clutch.

The following month, Adèle checked out the Dior Homme Spring 2014 Menswear show in Paris. Her patterned pink zip-up dress was paired with a clutch and Christian Dior two-tone ankle strap sandals. She was spotted at the opening of the Fendi boutique in Paris, which also served as a platform for Karl Lagerfeld’s The Glory of Water exhibition, a few days later. Adèle added a bright pop of color to this white and black Fendi ensemble in the form of a hot pink bag.

Isabel Marant’s lacy black semi-sheer gown was the young French star’s dramatic selection for the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Blue Is the Warmest Color in September. A pair of black pumps finished off the look. Adèle managed to grab a coveted front row seat at Balmain’s Spring 2014 presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Her embellished denim Resort 2014 look was partnered with a crop top and coordinating white sandals.

She was still busy promoting her buzz-worthy movie this October in Madrid. Adèle complemented Prada’s Resort 2014 colorblock printed dress with the brand’s deep red sneakers. Christian Dior was the source of this revealing black gown featuring an asymmetrical hem at last month’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2013 Governors Awards in Los Angeles. Christian Dior also provided her multifaceted footwear.
We may not be brave enough to work some of Adèle’s more rebellious looks in the real world, but we absolutely adore the way she challenges conventional red carpet dressing and the fact that she does so without really trying.
