The Mad Max: Fury Road Sydney premiere hit Sydney CBD’s Event Cinemas on George Street last night, May 13, and we caught up with the red-carpet arrivals to find out what they were wearing, which Aussie talent they were excited to see in film, and how they think they would survive in the desert apocalypse.
The likes of Dan Single, Pia Miller, Tegan Martin and Casey Burgess didn’t think they would fare very well in an apocalyptic world, saying they’d need things like coffee, warmth, a crew, makeup, hair and jewellery. Model Ruby Jean Wilson, on the other hand, said she’d be “so fine”.
Actor John Howard, who plays “People Eater” in the film, tells us we’ve got the fashion cut out for us in George Miller’s production, with some characters appearing as “a bloated cane toad in what’s left of a three-piece suit”.
Other trends to look out for include nipple rings and filigree gold noses. “It’s a fabulous look. I think it’s going to take off big time,” he says. You heard it here first.
