The 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards did what few other award shows could do tonight — lure a truly eclectic mix of stars, models and designers onto the same red carpet. While the annual ceremony honors the outstanding contributions made to American fashion, let’s be honest, what we really care about is what the attendees were wearing. Intense colors and strong neutrals shared the spotlight, but the common denominator was texture, from feathers to ornate appliqués and rich embellishments. Sheer paneling and cut-outs were also well represented, which isn’t surprising at an event where extreme dressing is often applauded (not to mention honored). Although, we were slightly surprised to see Julianna Margulies flashing her underwear.
