Zendaya — actress, activist, fashion designer, woman of our hearts — could teach a master class on handling body- (and hair-) shamers. Her methods are simple and highly effective. Step one, put the aggressor on blast. Step two, attack hate with love. On Friday, Twitter user @StarpowerXCV attracted Z’s ire when he posted a (now-deleted) tweet to the effect of, “Never trust a top half posting ass female,” in response to a series of selfies posted by one @_illestCee. Zendaya’s retort? “Stumbling across this is stupid shit, she is fine as hell head to toe and garunteed does’t know you exist my man. As for her, slay on queen,” tweeted Z, with a link to the original ignorance.

But that wasn’t all. 2017 being the year of action, Zendaya stepped up and put her money where her mouth is. She tweeted that she’d like to hire @_illestCee to be a model for Daya by Zendaya. (Z being Z, she makes it a point to show her clothing on women of all shapes and sizes.)
Can we find her @….I’d love for her to be a @dayabyzendaya model

Needless to say, Zendaya’s ardent following was more than up to the task. @_illestCee was promptly located, modeling dreams were made, and just like that, an act of cyberbullying was transformed into something positive.
@Zendaya @dayabyzendaya here you go 🙂 https://t.co/4BHlXyZUWA

May Zendaya’s actions serve as a much-needed reminder to women everywhere that we’re a community, and we’re in this thing together.
