Alexa Chung Dances With Tame Impala’s Cameron Avery in New Music Video

Alexa Chung has popped up in yet another music video, this time by one of Tame Impala’s touring members, Cameron Avery, who is preparing to release his debut solo album.

Chung and Avery play the two central characters in the muso’s new clip for ‘Dance With Me’, dancing together in a dimly lit hall which gives off some serious Twin Peaks vibes.

Directed by Nicole McDonald, the video is centred around two (also very Twin Peaks) dreamscapes, as Avery explains:

“‘Dance With Me’ is two dreamscapes,” he says. “The car wreck is kind of a metaphoric reality, where someone comes out of nowhere into your life and you’re incapable of avoiding them.

“The dancing scene is a dreamscape depicting the act of throwing all of yourself in their way in the hope they might open their eyes and see you. And then you play it over in your head and realise it probably couldn’t work anyway, hence the velvet blood, so you’re back where you started.

“The song itself is more about wanting someone to enter your life, like, gimme a chance, maybe I can make it better.”

Avery’s debut solo album Ripe Dreams, Pipe Dreams is set for release this Friday, 10th March.
