We’re used to seeing celebrities with flawless makeup and hair, but on the rare occasions they do show off an au naturel face, they’re either lauded for being “just like us” in their #nomakeup selfies or they get insulted (see Lorde, Kendall Jenner, Cameron Diaz and Kate Moss) for being less than perfect. Well, Kesha is having none of it.
As the latest celeb getting attention for releasing a makeup-free photo of herself, Kesha shows off her (seriously adorable) freckle-filled bare face with the caption: “This year my resolution is to love myself… just as I am, all fucked up and imperfect and whatever else. And to let my freckles liiiiiiiive.” It has garnered hundreds of thousands of likes on Instagram and Twitter, and comments that show nothing but support. Fans who have also felt insecure about their freckles are responding with their own makeup-free selfies.
We hope more people will take Kesha’s lead and learn to love themselves for who they are. After all, none of us is perfect.
