Our love of Fashion Week street style knows pretty much no bounds. It's often through street style roundups that must-have items emerge: remember the Kenzo tiger sweatshirt or um, every statement bag ever? With just weeks (days really) before New York Fashion Week, we thought it'd be fun to guess just which items will emerge during this upcoming weeks as the must-haves. We focused a lot on the usual suspects: kooky (but really awesome) stuff from Christopher Kane and unlikely tops from Givenchy (last year's big street style champion). This list also reads like our ultimate, no-expense-spared wishlist for the upcoming season—because a girl can dream. Click through for our picks and then come back in a few weeks to see if we were right!
We Guess: This Fashion Week's Top Street Style Superstars
-
The New Givenchy Sweatshirt
Givenchy everything was all the rage last season, so why not bet on this cool short-sleeved, leather-trimmed sweatshirt as this year's all-the-rage item?
$1,330 at Forward by Elyse Walker.
-
Warmth by Givenchy
On the other hand, this Givenchy bomber is also really cool in a low-key way. We can see some of the more subtle street style stars sporting this baby.
$3,560 at Forward by Elyse Walker.
-
Statement Saint Laurent
Naturally we should expect plenty of Saint Laurent pieces from Hedi Slimane's first collection for the newly named label. We reckon that this pretty peek-a-boo dress will have some fans.
$2,390 at Net-a-Porter.
-
Kenzo Fun
Kenzo's been a big hit in street style circles since its takeover by Opening Ceremony's head honchos. We have a feeling that this borrowed-from-the-boys sweatshirt will be this year's tiger face.
$295 at Opening Ceremony.
-
MMM's Clear Booties
While we know we're bound to see plenty of folks sporting fresh Prada and Charlotte Olympia kicks, we have a sneaking suspicion that these great clear MM6 booties will grab at least a few fans.
$455 at Forward by Elyse Walker.
-
Coolest Charlotte Olympia Clutch
Speaking of Charlotte Olympia, her bag game is getting as tight as that of her kitty slippers. We can already envision this clutch under the arm of street style's biggest stars.
$1,595 at Neiman Marcus.
-
Christopher Kane's Crazy Pants
Christopher Kane is a street style favorite, season in and season out. We're thinking the bravest of the show-going crop would be happy to sport these statement abstract pants.
$475 at Net-a-Porter.
-
Prabal's Peplum
We figured this gorgeous top would be a hit the second we saw it. Though peplum may have already had its peak time in the sun, we can certainly see this blouse in some future street style snaps.
$1,495 at Net-a-Porter.
-
Pretty by Stella McCartney
This awesome Stella McCartney dress has the elusive quality that street style models are looking for: it's both pretty and quirky. Oh, and it's pricey, which lends it a rather potent air of exclusivity.
$2,700 at Forward by Elyse Walker.
-
Phillip Lim's Hard Floral
This 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket has so much going on—and we know that show-goers don't exactly shy away from all the fun frills. We imagine at least one attendee of a European show sporting this awesome piece.
$1,195 at Farfetch.
