Lace-up detailing has been gaining momentum the last couple of years, but Fall 2014 saw its peak. Dolce & Gabbana led the charge with floaty chiffon dresses cinched with bustiers, Raf Simons sent out laced-up tailored sheaths, while Balenciaga and Emilio Pucci nailed whipstitch leather jackets. But it was the lace-up shoes stomping down the runways that really stole the show, from Burberry‘s painted booties to Antonio Berardi‘s over-the-knee bondage boots. Who’s ready to be tied up?
