Fashionista reports that interest in “high-leg one-piece swimsuits” has surged across online shopping search engines like Polyvore, Lyst and ShopStyle. In the past year, Polyvore has seen a 99 percent increase in searches for the style. Meanwhile, ShopStyle’s one-piece swimsuit inquires increased by 699 percent, while interest in bikinis dipped by 2 percent. According to Lyst’s numbers, Baywatch-ready maillots are now the second-most popular swimwear, bested only by bikinis.
Ask anyone — Demi Lovato, Vanessa Hudgens — one-pieces are far superior to bikinis in both design and function. They allow you to splash in the waves without fear of a wardrobe malfunction.
