The enchanting pieces over at Byron Bay-based label Spell Designs were on everyone’s radar for the ultimate festival outfit at this year’s Splendour in the Grass.
Worn by all the true festival queens from Vanessa Hudgens to Annalise McLachlan, Spell’s mix of floral, crochet and lace always wind up dominating the street style at Splendour in the Grass, no matter the weather.
It helped that the ultimate gypsy label, the bohemian brainchild of Isabella & Elizabeth Briedis, also had a stall on-site at Splendour in the Grass this year, meaning punters could nab a last-minute Spell purchase and up their style game accordingly. For some though, Spell was the go-to store when festival-goers needed to replace their ruined goods.

She was wearing a Spell outfit and it was totally trashed, and she just came in and was like, ‘I know you girls will help me, please help!'”
She continues, “We have baby wipes behind the counter so we baby wipe showered her, got all the mud off. She bought a new skirt and tucked it into her gumboots, tied it up and was good to go.”

“Spell designs it for festivals, she loves it!” Lulu explains. “She’s wearing a beautiful white lace duster at the moment and it’s totally covered in mud at the bottom. It’s all about expressing yourself and just having fun.”
