Victoria Beckham fan, we presume? At her Fall 2017 show, the designer offered us one major style precept: pair structured, slightly oversized outerwear with sheer chiffon skirts and slouchy, knee-high leather boots. This street style star sealed the deal with square-frame shades and a very oversized folded clutch.

This off-kilter take on the Canadian tux is a bit devoid of sex appeal. But who cares? It'll up your cool factor exponentially, especially if worn with patterned ankle boots and D-frame shades.

When you find that everyone around you has suited up, stand apart from the crowd in old-school sneakers and a geek-chic tennis polo. Choose one with a striped collar for a deliberately quirky, Wes Anderson-esque touch.

A sharp boss lady blazer (preferably oversized, preferably in plaid) is an absolute must-have for fall. Offset the 9-to-5 vibes with destroyed denim.

Fall Outfits 2017 #13

Fall Outfits 2017 #17
Lend some femininity to a workwear-inspired jumpsuit. Pair it with sleek white mules, a dainty ankle bracelet and a waist-accentuating skinny belt. (One with a touch of hardware will go especially well with the theme.)
Fall Outfits 2017 #18
...Or rock "masculine" workwear and eschew any "feminine" touches. (Fashion is more than ready for gender-neutral dressing .) To avoid looking undone, pay attention to detail. Like this model, whose striped long-sleeve polo complements the banding on her gold Air Max 97s.

A maxi dress worn over pants is still our favorite easy-yet-finished fall outfit. Note: this formula works best with a front-button number that (a.) makes it clear you're wearing pants and not just a bulky AF dress and (b.) doubles as a would-be train.
Fall Outfits 2017 #22
Yes, even those who don't subscribe to the Off-White aesthetic can give the belt-so-long-it-nearly-grazes-the-floor trend a go.
Fall Outfits 2017 #23
We love the idea of wearing a hoodie as a top (or in this case, a mid layer). This particular fall outfit is a little challenging, as it requires a thin, close-fitting hoodie and strapless but structured dress (otherwise you may end up looking like a burlap sack). Still, the risk is worth the reward. That anachronistic hint of Victorian collar really ties the whole outfit together and adds a touch of femininity (for contrast).

This season, the off-kilter outerwear trend will apply more to checked coats than it will oversized puffers.
Fall Outfits 2017 #25
Done with dressing down? We hear you. Wine-colored satin cocktail dresses and cinnamon suede overcoats make a surprisingly daylight-friendly fall outift. At least when plaid accents are involved.

Fall Outfits 2017 #28
Safety orange is the new millennial pink; classic polka dots are the new marinière stripes. How convenient that the two go so well together (as evidenced by this sweater-skirt-and-boots combo).
Fall Outfits 2017 #29
Pair a psychedelic blouse with cropped jeans and trippy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -inspired sunglasses. (We refer to the 2005 remake, not the far superior original.) The results will be hypnotizing.
