The exploding tie-dye trend has now come for our gym clothes. While it has its roots in hippie fashion, today’s iterations aren’t about over-the-top psychedelic proportions and color clashes. A number of brands have come out with totally wearable prints, including affordable retailers like Forever 21, which has been putting a surprisingly sophisticated spin on this classic look.
The key to making this throwback trend work is to avoid pieces with a half dozen different colors or more. Avoid concentric circles and favor more fluid designs. Lastly, the more unsaturated the tie-dye pattern, the easier it will be to pull off.
