The last few cold-weather seasons have revolved around trench dresses, blanket coats and cardigans. But for Fall 2019, we’re investing our hard-earned cash in vests. The versatile layering pieces were all over the Fall 2019 runways. Everything from sweater vests to tailored waistcoats are proving popular, probably because they tie into the burgeoning bourgeois phenomenon as well as dad/grandpa dressing and the argyle trend.
So what should you pair with vests? Well, pretty much anything goes. You can layer tank tops and T-shirts under almost any vest on warmer days. When brisk autumn winds are blowing, slip one on over a romantic blouse, a lightweight knit or a turtleneck. Any bottoms will work, from must-have pleated midi skirts to cropped trousers.
