The latest edition of New York Fashion Week was jam-packed with shows, lookbooks and presentations. Even with such a cramped schedule, several New York Fashion Week Spring 2022 trends emerged. In fact, some preexisting ones received a bit of a makeover.
Not surprisingly,
sleeves were the focal point of many looks. On the flip side,
bra tops are still going strong. This time around they come paired with complementary bottoms.
On the pattern front, both florals and plaid proved popular. The former aren’t your basic flower arrangements. From 3-D blooms to funky prints, they may not be groundbreaking, but they sure are fun. The latter was a shocker, especially because the plaids are still in autumnal hues.
Keep reading to discover the six New York Fashion Week Spring 2022 trends you need to have on your radar.

Matching Bras
Bra tops have been around for a bit. But for spring, designers want you to go matchy-matchy. Barely-there tops were paired with coordinating pants and skirts. The trend is tricky to pull off IRL. Topping off your bottoms of choice with a bra you already own is not an option, though.

Fun With Florals
Florals in spring is nothing new, but these aren’t your standard patterns. Rodarte took flowers into 3-D territory. Anna Sui styled a funky floral dress with matching gloves and a headscarf. While Carolina Herrera mixed its bouquet with polka dots.

Go Green
Every season there are certain colors that dominate. This time it’s green. Although this isn’t a case of favoring one shade. Instead practically every version was represented. We’re talking lime, forest and the decidedly springy grass green.

Pile on the Plaid
A fan of plaid? Well, you’re in luck. While the patterns are usually favored in fall, for Spring 2022 plaid came in multiple doses. And, surprisingly, came in shades more suited to autumn.

Bring on the Ombre
After several seasons of tie-dye, the tide has finally begun to turn. Now designers are fading colors into each other. It’s far less psychedelic, but still pretty eye-catching.
