Draped Necklines Prove We’ve Reached Peak Early Aughts Nostalgia

If fashion continues its current trajectory, all things from the 2010s will soon be popular again. While the decade was literally last decade, it’s the next in line in terms of trends. Not too long ago, everything 70s was in vogue. Then came the over-the-top 80s silhouettes, the more minimal 90s mainstays and now the early aughts are in the limelight. So it makes sense that draped necklines have come back around. Based on the aforementioned sartorial timeline, it was only a matter of time before this happened. Just to make sure we’re on the same page, draped necklines include barely-cowl takes to plunging almost all the way to your navel choices. Halter versions are also recognized. One of the most common interpretations comes in the form of slip dresses and camis. The latter can also morph into the ever-popular scarf tops, another remnant from the early 2000s era. Obviously, they naturally lend themselves to summer. Which is why we’re seeing more and more options out there. But you can keep wearing them in fall as long as you’re willing to flex your layering skills.
